KRASTEC Celebrates First SRC Week After 33 Years of Establishment

Kete Krachi Senior High Technical School has celebrated their maiden SRC Week for the first time in the history of the school.  The school, located in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region was established in 1991 and this happened to be the first SRC week celebration after 33 years.

The activities that marked the occasion include; clean up exercise, aerobics, talent show where students displayed various talents, fun games and durbar for students, staff and invited guests.

During the durbar, the SRC President, Master Ugaja Christopher, enumerated some challenges students face in the school, notable among them are; lack of public address system to aid entertainment and other school activities, broken louvres at the boy’s dormitory, lack of teacher’s bungalow to house teachers on campus for effective monitoring, poor lighting system and many more. He appealed to individuals, Government and Cooperate Organizations to come to the aid of the school.

The Headmaster, Mr. David Prosper Katey, acknowledged the support of PTA, Old Students, Hon. Hellen Adwoa Ntoso (MP for Krachi West Constituency), Mr. Pius Nkrumah, Mr. Justice Amankwah Mensah (NPP Parliamentary Aspirant, Krachi West) and other individuals for their help towards the development of the school. He again called for help from benevolent individuals, organizations and Government to provide tools and equipment for Woodwork, Agric and Building Construction, a pavilion for practical works, bungalow for housing staff, just to mention a few of the challenges the school faces.

The Coordinator for KRASTEC TVET/STEM Innovation Club, Mr. Twumasi Teddy Riley applauded Mr. Ofori Nuhu Inussah (Play boy Junior), Mr. Pius Nkrumah, Mr. Wordey Martin, Miss Chiporo Mystery, Mr. Zeh Wisdom, Mr. Nada Patrick, KRASTEC Old Students and the school management for their immense support for the club. “The club has been formed to train members (students) to acquire skills to be able to fit into the job market, be independent citizens and also become entrepreneurs in the future” he added. He further appealed to the General public to support them with tools and equipment, money, sewing machines and so on to enable them run the club smoothly.
