All teachers got their laptop before we left office – Yaw Adutwum

The Former Minister of Education Yaw Osei Adutwum made this claim in an interview on JoyNews’ AM Show this Friday February 14, 2025.

He emphatically stated that “Every teacher got their laptop before we left, you can check it with the unions, you can check in with them and it will be confirmed that everyone got it”.

According to the Former Minister of Education, “All first year students had been prioritised, because first year students have E-books and the E-books had been downloaded onto the tablet, it started 6 months before we left office”.

He continued by saying, “By the time I left office, around 200 to 300 schools had already received their tablets” as he emphasized that the distribution process has not been halted.

He again stated that the introduction of AI in schools after teachers have been trained, helped them to conduct and give timely feedback to learners. “Teachers are being trained to use AI assessment portals. When a student writes an essay it can be graded for them with AI” as mentioned by the Former Minister.
