Release of 2024 School Placement (CSSPS)

In a quest to further your Pre-Tertiary education, students from Junior High Schools in Ghana must write the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to be able to progress to the Senior High School. As such, parents and students that were qualified participated in this years BECE and after accessing their results weeks ago, they wait anxiously to find out the schools their wards are placed.

The wait is over as “GES announces to students, parents and the general public that the 2024 Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) is LIVE now“.

Statistics of the 2024 BECE

According to the Ghana Education Service as published on their official site, “Out of the 563,339 results received from WAEC, 553,155 candidates qualified to be placed. A total of 447,698 (80.93%) qualified candidates have automatically been placed in one of their choices”.

“However, 104,918 qualified candidates could not matched to any of their choices. Out of this number, 73,390 (13.27%) qualified candidates have been placed in schools similar to those they selected, and such students are at liberty to accept or reject the offer. Once a student rejects the recommended school, he/she can select a school of their choice from the Self-Placement platform“.

Over 94% of students were successfully placed in schools. “The total number of students placed in schools is 521,088 representing 94.20%.”

“The students who were not placed must visit the Self-Placement platform to select a school of their choice”.

HOW TO ACCESS SCHOOL PLACEMENT

To access your school placement, kindly follow these steps:

  1. Log on to the site https://www.cssps.gov.gh or https://www.cssps.org
  2. Enter the 10-digit index number and year of completion (e.g., 123456789024
  3. Submit and view your results
  4. Print your enrolment form, placement slip, and prospectus

Self-Placement Module

If automatically unmatched, Students will be redirected to the self-placement portal to:

  • Select region, residential preference, school and program.
  • Submit and print the form
  • Visit the chosen school to begin admission

Note:

  • Schools can be changed multiple times on the portal until enrolment
  • All schools with vacancies are available for selection

Reporting Date

  • Heads of all Institutions are to begin Registration and Orientation on 30th October, 2024, and commence academic work by 7th November, 2024.
