GES Announces 2024 BECE and WASSCE Examination Dates

The Ghana Education Service (GES) in a letter dated 5th of February, 2024 sighted by the icreateghnews team indicates that both the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), will be written in July.

As stated, “Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to inform all Heads of Basic and Senior High Schools that the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), 2024 for School Candidates (SC) will be written as follows:

  1. July 8 – 12, 2024 for BECE (SC)
  2. July 1 – August 31, 2024 for WASSCE (SC)

WASSCE Registration process has started already and as to when, and how long the registration is going to hold is still not clear. GES has made it clear that appropriate dates will be communicated to the heads of schools in due time.

All Regional Directors of Education are directed to disseminate the information to Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to keep all Heads of Basic and Senior High Schools to take note and prepare the candidates for the examination accordingly.
