Elective ICT WASSCE Practicals 2020.

Answer all the questions.

  1. Payment for telephone calls in a country is calculated based on the following conditions:
Types Of Call Amount For First 3 Minutes Amount For Every Addition Minute
Local 10 5
Trunk 20 10
Foreign 30 15

 

Calls made on a particular day are as shown below:

Using an appropriate spreadsheet program and the table above:

(a) Calculate the:

(i) amount payable per customer;

(ii) maximum amount due per type of call;

(iii) total amount due the operator of the call centre that day.

(b) Using the header facility, insert your full name and index number.

(c) Save work as CALLS in the folder created                                                    [15 marks]

  1. A continuous assessment report created by a teacher is shown in Figure 1.

Using an appropriate text editor:

(a) Write the HTML codes to produce the document in Figure 1.

(b) Use heading level 1 for “Continuous Assessment”.

(c) The title of the document should be a “Class 1 Assessment”.

(d) Add a third entry to the table with your index number and full name for the Index No and Candidate columns respectively. Assign yourself any marks for the two subjects.

(f) Save the document as ASSESSMENT.HTML in the folder created.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        [15 marks]

  1. Write Use an appropriate database application to design a database and name it DBCustomers in the folder created.

(a)  Create an appropriate database with the following fields:

(i) Customers-Id: Format this field such that it accepts only letters as the first two characters and only numeric for the last four characters. Example ZZ8888

(ii) First_Name: Text

(iii) Last_Name: Text

(iv) Country: Must be formatted to be a Lookup field; with the following regions displayed in a combo box to be selected from: Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Kenya.

(v) Location: Text

(vi) Tel-Number: Must be formatted to appear like 030-X-XXX-XX. It must accept only numerics with X as a place holder.

(b) Save the table as tblCustomers.

(c) Enter the following records into the table:

(d) Create a query to show the fields Customer-Id, Customer_Name, Country, Location and Tel-Number from the tblCustomers, where Customer_Name is the merged fields of the First_Name and Last_Name from the tblCustomers.

(e) Save the query as QRYCUSTOMERS.
