WEAC Updates General Public on the Release of BECE Results
The West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) wishes to inform the the public about the date for the release of the results for the BECE for School and Private Candidates, 2022.
This was disclosed in a Press Statement by the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) headquarters, dated January 19, 2023 with reference number WAEC/PRO.PRESS/VOL.3/108 and signed by Victor Brew (Rev), Head, legal.
According to the press statement, WAEC has successfully conducted the examination at 2,023 centres and Co-ordination and Marking exercises have been completed hence, “the council is far advanced with post examination activities”.

The press statement further stated that “investigations are ongoing into examination irregularity cases detected during and after the conduct of the examination. For a quick resolution of malpractice cases, the Council appeals to affected school authorities and candidates to respond with dispatch to its invitation. Candidates are informed that their refusal to honour such invitations shall not impede the Council from makin a final determination on the cases in question.”
Also, the West Africa Examination Council is urging the general public to disregard all information circulating on social media indicating that the results have been released, among others.
Has the BECE Results been released?
The Press Statement ended by calling on parents and candidates to remain calm as the Council works towards the release of the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results for both School and Private candidates which is scheduled to kick start on Wednesday, 25th January, 2023.
