Kpando MCE Handed Over 200 Dual Desk to GES in The Municipality
The Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Joe Badasu handed over 200 dual desk to Ghana Education Service (GES) on Tuesday, 14th June, 2022, after he toured some schools in the municipality and noticed they lack some of the basic amenities and were struggling.
According to him, he will do everything within his power to make sure every school in the municipality gets enough desk. He mentioned this in an interview with the Akpini Radio 96.7 news crew.
He also added that he “apologize to schools that would not get the desk because he requested for 1200 desk but got hold of only 200 for now which would not be enough for all the schools in the municipality but promised to work tirelessly to present the remaining 1000 to the Ghana Education Service (GES) just as they are released”.
The Municipal Education Director, Madam Amegatsey Hilda who received the Desk promised, they were going to take good care of them and also used the opportunity to express her thanks to the MCE and the government for the kind gesture.
She also added that six(6) schools got more of the allocations, which are Kpando Fesi basic school and Kpando konda basic school have received 70 desk because they are Examination center’s. She added that the cost involved in transporting desk form sister schools to the two examination centers is very high and the challenges in the movement of desks to and fro necessitated the move to give the two examination centres more. Kpando St. Patrick Aloyi, kpando Gabi, Kpando E.P. kpodzi and Gbefi St. Peter’s had 15 desks each.
She also encouraged the other schools in the municipality to have faith because they will receive theirs very soon.
Municipal coordinating Director Mr. Avemegah, Hon. Ankorah Assembly man for Gbefi Hoeme, Hon. Emil Wordey, Assembly man for Gadza and Dzoanti were present when the donation was made.
