BECE School Selection List 2022/2023 Academic Year.

List of SHS School Categories for Selection – 2022/2023 Academic Year.

The commencement of the school selection process for all Basic Examination Certificate Examination candidates has been initiated.

This process will lead to the placement of qualified candidates and it calls for the need to get familiar with the necessary guidelines to follow during the selection process.

Steps Leading to Placement.

• Selection of schools by candidates.
• School choice verification.

Selection Date and Schedule. 24^th October 2022 to 29^th October 2022

Selection of schools by Candidates, Parent or Guardian.

To ensure a smooth and successful placement of qualified candidates, the following information was put in place by the Ghana Education Service/Technical and Vocational Education and Training Service (GES/TVETSS).

BECE School Selection Groupings

The second-cycle schools selection register contains approximately, 865 Senior High Schools (SHS), Senior High Technical Schools (SHTS), Technical Vocational Institutes grouped in categories of A to D.

Furthermore, this register In addition to the name of the school, the region and district, school code, programmes, status and gender was also added.

I.  Public Second Cycle Institutions are placed into 4 groups known as Categories A, B, C and D.

II. The Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions have been categorized into A, B and C.

III. Appendix 1: contains Detailed Technical and Vocational Education and Training Service (TVETS) Programmes.

IV. Appendix 2: contains detailed subjects of the Technical Programmes in the Sec/Tech. institutions.

V. Appendix 3: contains Special Boarding Schools for the Sixth (6th) Choice.

VI. Appendix 4: contains list of Special Education Division (SPED) Schools.

VII. Sample choice: Some examples of correct and wrong choice patterns.

VII. Some schools have been moved to different Categories (Recategorized).

Take NOTE that: PRIVATE SHS and PRIVATE TVET SCHOOLS are not BENEFICIARIES of FREE SHS

Candidates who desire to pursue courses in private schools should make their own arrangements with the Private SHS or PRIVATE TVET.
