2024 BECE Registration and Subject Selection
Following the GES earlier announcement of making Ghanaian Language an optional subject, there has been a lot of public agitations and several calls made on the Ghana Education Service (GES) to rescind their decision. A quick change was made and Ghanaian Language is now an elective subject. The GES push computing under optional subjects together with French and Arabic.
As stated in the GES release, “Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to inform all Regional Directors to ensure that the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates register the approved courses”.

For the avoidance of doubt, the subjects to be registered are;

| 1. English Language | 1. Ghanaian Language | 1. French |
| 2. Mathematics | 2. Arabic | |
| 3. General Science | 3. Computing | |
| 4. Social Studies | ||
| 5. Religious and Moral Education | ||
| 6. Career Technology | ||
| 7. Creative Arts & Design |
Note: Candidates are supposed to register for the Ghanaian Language they studied.
Candidates are to follow the subject list above for a successful registration with guardians from their teachers in order to avoid errors in the 2024 BECE Registration and Subject Selection.
“Regional Directors are encouraged to inform their respective Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education for compliance”.
